Tax Planning

Working with either your own accountant or one of our tax experts, we can prepare a tax analysis that examines employment and investment income with an eye to developing strategies to reduce taxes and even restructure your income. We will look at your situation today, and project what your tax situation may look like in the future. We don’t like tax surprises, and we’re sure you don’t either. Simple strategies, like donations to your favourite charity, can reduce your taxes.

We see many retired people who, because of resistance to investing in stocks, are losing a significant amount of their income to taxes.

Many others, who are still working, don’t take advantage of all the tax reducing strategies available to them. The most common example is people who don’t use their dental care and extended health care group plan premiums as a medical expense. Many don’t remember to save their prescription and other medical receipts. Why pay the government more than you need to? It has been estimated that Canadians pay millions of dollars more in taxes each year than they have to. Getting a Tax Tune-up is less painful than taking your vehicle into the mechanic; in fact you may even get paid to do it!
