Webinar: Dr James Gifford, Executive Director of the United Nations-backed Principles for Responsible Investment Initiative

August 22, 2012

Dr. James Gifford is Executive Director of the PRI and has been guiding the initiative since its inception in November 2003. He was named in 2010 by the World Economic Forum as one of 200 Young Global Leaders. The PRI is a network of international investors working together to put the six Principles for Responsible Investment into practice. The Principles were devised by the investment community. They reflect the view that environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) issues can affect the performance of investment portfolios and therefore must be given appropriate consideration by investors if they are to fulfil their fiduciary (or equivalent) duty. The Principles provide a voluntary framework by which all investors can incorporate ESG issues into their decision-making and ownership practices and so better align their objectives with those of society at large. This webinar will be of interest for those wanting to learn more about the UNPRI and its work with the signatories.

  • Webinar Date: Wednesday, August 22nd
  • Time: 12-12:45pm
  • Cost: Free
